Saddle and seat post carry almost permanently of the driver’s weight. Seat posts are composed of carbon, aluminium or steel tubes, which are inserted into the seat tube in the bicycle frame. At the end, a clamp fitting for almost all common saddles is attached. The different seat posts vary in material, design and their features. They are differentiated between rigid, spring and height-adjustable seat posts. Each type has its right to exist and a special field of application. Rigid seat posts save weight, making them perfect for the road racing and triathlon sector. The mountain biker enjoys height-adjustable seat posts, as it can react pretty quickly to the changed requirements on unpaved roads. The height adjustment usually takes place by an operating element on the handlebar.
