Matthias, born in 1983, is in his main job a police officer for the state of Bavaria. He is an excellent example for some of the best virtues somebody can have: willpower and reaching ambitious goals in tricky life situations. During a medical check-up in 2010 a tumor was found in his spine which had to be removed. Through this operation he lost every sense in his legs, but with a great amount of energy and willpower he managed to stay in his job and even do road racing. He was acknowledged by the Bavarian police administration as top athlete in paracycling and he was taken into the „Talent Team Rio 2016“.

“In 2009, I was inspired not only to ride my bike, but also to jump, spin and twirl it. Through online appearances and first contest participations in 2014, I made my breakthrough in mountain bike dirt jump/slopestyle and have been competing worldwide ever since. I can proudly say that I have turned my hobby into a profession and thanks also to Messingschlager and KMC, who support the whole thing with a firm kick.”
